Hi Steve,

I hear ya. I wouldn't apply the sealant to the rubber heater hoses. I'd apply it to seal the metal heater core tubes to the foam gasket around them to prevent leakage though the firewall. I realize this would make it harder to remove the heater core, which means I'd have to remove the sealant before removing the heater core. I'd probably also only use a small amount of sealant so that it didn't look like a hack job. I think replacing the hoses and clamps is a good idea too. Thanks for the advise, I'm glad this hotel has wireless internet! Had a great ~10 hour drive today in my girlfriend's `03 Jetta TDI wagon. Even loaded up (lazer sailboat on the roof) it's a great hwy car. Not as smooth and heavy feeling as the Volvos, but great handling (Neuspeed rear sway and 16"s), nice shifting manual tranny and comfortable seats. I'd like to see how the V90 compares on such a trip. Maybe we'll take that next time :)
