740 sunroof stuck 700 1988

I just bought a 740 sedan for my sun. I was told that the sunroof had problems but had to try it anyway. When I got it the rear corner drivers side was wedged up into position. It drops abut 1/2 in without the wedge. It slides back OK but when put to vent only the passenger side clears the roof. The drivers side is stuck tight.

Anthing that I can find says to place it in vent and slide back the headliner. I can't. It's stuck. Any suggestions on how to proceed??
