Air Conditioning: Failure of compressor engagement 700 1980

Had redone the AC on this car 10 years ago and the compressor was leaking oil, so replaced compressor, receiver-drier and put a VOV in. No go. Jumped the compressor to gate in the freon and back probed to the pressostat. Found electrical from the compressor (I had the jump on) but no juice from the opposite side. After going over my Green Books, I discovered the delay relay was bad. First just put in a jumper wire and the compressor clicked. Now have a nop-delay relay until the new arrives.

BTY, VOV's really make a difference. This is an R-12 system, so it cools!
