trailing arm bushings 200 1986

Every shop I have worked in charges around 3 hours labor. In my shop that comes out to $225.00. I won't bullshit you here, if it is straight forward and not rusted up it takes me 10-15 minutes per side actual working time. Mind you, I am a seasoned Volvo tech that has done more sets of these than I care to even think about and I have every shortcut and factory tool at my disposal. I have to agree that $259.00 in labor isn't what I would consider a "smokin' deal" but not really a gouge either. The dealer in my area will set you back at least $300.00 and you can bet they won't let you bring your own parts either.

On your ball joints, if you wanted to I am sure you could drill the correct size hole in the base of the joint and screw in a zirc fitting. I have done this in the past on some of the beater 140's I have worked on and it worked wonders. If you look at some of the front end suspension components on other cars that take a zirc fitting it is just a hole that it screws into and the threaded end of the fitting is tapered so it cuts its' own threads.

Good luck,
Mark
