960 quit 900

Mother's 960 has been having a hot start issue. The fuel would build up too much pressure, would be relieved if the release at the end of the fuel rail was pressed. Friday night it just quit rolling down the highway. It tries to start, but doesn't seem like it's getting enough fuel. Now there is no pressure to relieve on the fuel rail.

My thoughts are:

1. Fuel Pump. Does this car have 2 pumps? Should I just change them both?

2. Fuel Pressure Regulator. This is what I thought it was before...but would it not let it get any fuel?

Thanks for the help. I have to drive 4 hours to fix it...would like to have what I need WITH me...
