Fuel Gauge '94 940 Not working 900

The last thing to fix on my 94 940 is the non-working
fuel gauge. Right now, it's just sitting on empty all the time.
My first (quick) reading of the FAQ made me think that most likely
the problem was the guage. But I just re-read the article and
now I'm confused. Are all post 93 volvos with a larger tank and thus
the changed fuel sender? I guess an '87 fuel gague I have ain't gonna work
in this car, as they've reversed the voltages for empty/full Is this one really more likely to break then the older ones?
Where is the sender connector on the fuel tank?
I've never been a resistor whiz. Will any 68-ohm resistor work? Do
I get one from radio shack? Did they change anything else, like
how to get the instrument cluster out?

Thanks for your help/thoughts/experience with these things.
