power seat

I have a 91 940 with a non operable power seat. The seat is in the way back position and I cant see the rear bolts to get the seat out. The problem is in the stop swich. I disconnected the connectors to the stop button on the control panel and the fuse which had been blown no longer blows. I have a new control panel but the connectors are different. Can I change the connectors to install it or can I somehow bypass the stop switch to get the one I have working again? It does not work with the stop switch disconnected.
