AC swap from 81 to 84 242. Questions. 200

I have a 1981 242 with a B21F that has had a nice brand new AC kit installed by professionals a few years ago that uses modern refrigerant. I'm thinking about transfering the entire system to an 84 242 that came from the factory with no AC. I understand that a B23F block and a B21F block are the same on the outside. Is this true? This should mean that I can transfer the compressor mounting bracket straight from the B21 to the B23. I'm hoping the power steering brackets would swap cleanly, too. Is the stuff under the dash set up the same on both cars? Am I crazy to do this? It actually looks pretty straight forward assuming the blocks are the same on the outside, and the layout under the dash is the same on both cars. Am I missing something here? Any advice from people who have done this?
