Where has all the piston slap gone? 700

I used to have a bunch of piston slap after cold starts (cold being considered 40-50 or so), to the point i thought the mill (230FT) was on its way out. The ride had 250K or so on it at the time. Now the slap is gone at close to 300K. It just kinda faded and went away.

I can't really pinpoint any changes that might have caused the slap, or its disappearance as to that matter. Nothing has been done to the motor either.

I was using whatever oil and whatever filter then and now (well, i did change over to Rotella T 15-40 recently, like the last oil change, mostly 'cause i got a bunch of it with a Powerstroke diesel truck i bought, i guess thats whatever also).

The motor does not burn oil, not now or ever.

Whats up? Is it on its way out now, then?

P.S. It has also fixed several engine oil leaks by itself, i hope its not like a Christine or something. I did wax it today to keep it happy, though.
