To slash or not to slash 200

I was thinking today about removing the slash and volvo emblem from my 1982 240 DL grill (vertical black bars). When I got home from work, I went ahead and pulled it off (it may or may not ever go back on--its removal was definitely accompanied by the sound of cracking plastic). The grill is now empty except from a Lamba-Sond emblem relocated toward the driver's side at about middle height. It does look a bit sportier, and my non-volvo owning neighbor says he prefers it this way. I ought to include a picture but it's too dark to take one now.

Do you guys think the no-slash look is cool?

On the other hand, what's a Volvo without it's slash? Is it sacreligious to drive around without it?
