Does the '93 240 Use the Radiator temp sensor? 200

I recently bought a used '93 240. I've found all sorts of odd things, like the fact that the last shop to do a timing belt replacement used the '92 and earlier square cog type instead of the correct '93 and newer rounded cog. Yikes. Amazing that it held for 52,000 miles :(.

Anyway, the car also has an all metal replacement radiator which has the usual coolant temp sensor on the passenger side, but the sensor isn't connecte to anything. I do not see any loose wires on the electric fan in front of the radiator, so I am wondering if the '93 still actually uses that sensor?

TIA for any help!
John
