164 no start, no spark 140-160 1975

Amazing what my learning curve is doing. Dizzy can be in 6 locations! That makes total sense. A plug wire every 60 degrees, just so that #1 is at 270 when looking at it from the front bumper.
I, too, suspect the "fixed" wire. It's cold today, so tomorrow I will rotate the distributer and take off the sheathed wire. Check for continuity, etc. Make sure it looks like it is connected correctly and the solder weld that he made is still in place.
It will be my first look, so I will mark everything before it comes loose. I do not suspect the module, yet. First things first.
This has to be an electrial wiring problem, not a mechanical one. I would love to replace every wire, but I don't expect to live long enough!
