I had the same idle problem. I took it to a friend who has an independent Volvo shop. He checked the combustion products with his anylizing machine and found the C.O. was out of whack. It should be in the 2% range, and mine was in around 9% he said it was running lean and adjusted the little hex screw on the fuel distributor while watching the anylizer. Presto, Chango, Kalamazoo, my idle problem was fixed. BTW I have an 82 244 GL w/B23E engine. Hope this helps...Mike
