Bad Water Pump Bad Symptoms? 900 1994

Can anyone list the symptoms of a water pump going bad? I'm noticing a coolant smell when the 940 is garaged (after having been driven), a very small loss of coolant (obviously), and a little coolant on the garage floor apparently coming from around the front of the motor (about where the pulleys and timing belt are).

The hoses all look dry, and we had a new radiator within the past year and a half. I've noticed the car seems to run a bit rough after it has warmed up althogh I'm not sure this is related. I suppose a seal could be going rather than the pump itself. It all looks like a water pump to me, but I'd like to have a couple of opinions.
