Red Hot Exhaust Manifold 1800 1971

I was warming up my 1800 tonite and noticed that the inner side exhaust pipe of the dual pipes was red hot as if was going to melt, yet the outside one (the one towards the wheel well) was normal. Also noticed the middle outlets from the exhasut manifold was almost the same but not as red. Does this mean that the inner pipe may be clogged or is this normal? The only time I have seen this was a turbo wagon I once had and after spinning going up a snowy hill, the exhaust pipe connected to the turbo was red hot. Just want to make sure I don't fry this engine.

thanks,

luis
