88 240 engine into 86 240? 200 1986

I just got a nice looking 1986 240 with multiple engine issues and a very rotted looking wiring harness. I have a 1988 240 that was hit hard in the rear but is mechanically excellent and a nice harness. The question is: If I swap out the engine and M47 trans from the 88 into the 86 is it a straight plug and play? Do I want to use the ignition and injection ECU's from the 88? What else might I want to change out?
