Worthwhile cleaning intake + carbs? 700 1986

I shall be taking the intake manifold off to service the PCV system soon. I know its generally regarded as a good a idea to clean the throttle body on FI engines while doing this job. But, i've got a carburettor. Is it as important on carbed Volvos to clean the throttles as it is on FI Volvos?
Also, would it be worthwhile to clean inside the intake manifold aswell?

The carburettor does look very black inside.

Cheers
Will
