Strange noise due to front spring orientation? 140-160

Hi,

I recently changed the lower left bushings in the lower arms of the frontsuspension.
The steering has improved dramatically but now i hear a strange noise from the front spring when riding over bumps, it
seems like it is rubbing against another part (somewhat like a "boing") .
I've checked all the fixings and all are correct. The rear bushings are not rotating, the front I can't see.
Do the springs have an orientation? up-down?
Do the springs need to be exactly in the middle? Mine is the outside of the " dish" where it sits in.

Thanks,
wouter
