Eliminate the mechanical cooling fan on 240 and go all-electric?

Has anyone simply gotten rid of the clutch and fan and installed a large aftermarket electric cooling fan and shroud? Almost all new vehicles have gone this way. Heck, if one is using an aftermarket radiator with it's unused thermostatic switch then that part of the job is already done.

I would guess that the V-8 conversion people must go this route.
