Maybe it was a good thing that you put that feeler out before getting the car because I have a heads-up for you;

Call US Customs at the port you are going to cross because they will need a copy of the US title faxed to them 72 hours BEFORE you can export the car. Cross the border without doing it and the clock resets to zero. The department goes by the name V.I.N.N.I. and is not at every crossing. They stamp the original when you present it in person.
