Rear Speakers in a Station Wagon? 200 1986

Inga now has a new Sony CD/Radio installed, and those 20 year old front speakers sound really good. My Son In Law was surprised by the sound. But we were looking around for the place to mount rear speakers and well in a 245 DL there are not a whole lot of places to mount them.

Has anyone mounted speakers in the panel just behing the rear door? There is a space behind the panel that fells like it would take a speaker cone. And you could run the wires under the carpet and get there pretty easy so it appears.

Only other option appears to be the back doors. The very rear compartment has the spare tire cover that comes out. The other side will work, but that is also a long way from the front of the car.

What worked for you Wagon owners and why?

Regards,

PT
