Clunking, Hesitation under acceleration up hill ('81 240 DL Wagon) 200

I have an '81 240 DL Wagon that I'm trying to sell. It hasn't been driven in about 5 months but everything seems to be as I left it.

I was driving around town and everything seemed fine. I drove up a long hill on the freeway and suddenly the car kind of clunks or hesitates. It almost feels like a stall. Weird, never happened before. I let off the gas and it goes away, but is now forcing me to slow down. I apply the gas and it happens again. I let off again. I apply the gas just slightly and no problems.

This seems to be intermittent and only on hills accelerating or just trying to maintain speed.

The jerking, yes, that's the word to describe it, is not violent, just like a stall but kind of clunking. It is hard to describe but doesn't happen when I'm driving under 80 Km/h.

I'm going to check things out tomorrow; I was just hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

The car is an '81 240 DL Wagon, B21A (Carb.).

Thanks,

Allan
