Two questions: one on wiper motor, one on o.d. wires 200 1986

Good morning, Brickboard.

I need some advice on the front wiper motor. It works on the second (fast)setting but on the first (slow) setting it begins to slow down after about five minutes. Should I take a stab a fixing this, or getting a used one from a junker, or go to FCP and get a no name brand.

Also, my overdrive wires on the gear shift are shot. I was going to rewire them myself but could not pull the original wires through the gear shift. Is there a trick to doing this?
