Totally unrelated problems---or are they? 900

Hello to all!

I have a 95 940 sedan, NA, 205k on the clock, I had what I thought was warped front rotors ... shaking in the steering wheel while braking, etc. Well, then I had a noise like something was hitting the bottom of the floor. I took it to my local mechanic and he found the transmission mount was broken ... replaced it and, to my surprise, when I picked up the car, the shaking was gone also? I just want to understand the relevance of the two. Has anyone else experienced this?
