interested in a 1989 760 194K miles 700

My 240 is getting tired with 236K miles. (more accurately, I'm getting tired of working on it every other weekend to keep it going) My neighbors even razz me!

I've given a lot of thought to a replacement car and am considering looking at a 1989 760 turbo wagon. It has 194K miles, front end shudder when braking, and the sunroof leaks. The seller has owned it about 6 months. He had the injectors cleaned and has done regular maintenance including changing oil with Mobil-1 twice. He said it now has an oil leak from somewhere. Asking price is $1595.

What things should I check if I go see it? He does not know when the timing belt was last changed. I feel confident to do this anyway.

Anything else for an 89 760 turbo I should be leary of?

Also I'm assuming this engine would not have the piston cooling of the later 940?

Thanks for any advice.

Mike
