Idle speed for automatics? 200

I'm driving an 84 carbed 244 automatic until I get my M46 on the 80 carbed 245 replaced/fixed (it has since started slipping in addition to recently losing the OD).

Question regards idle speed with the automatic. It idles fine in park/neutral at about 950 rpms, but when stopped in drive (eg. at lights) idle is a rough 700-750 rpms sometimes less and bordering on stalling. Do I bump the idle speed up in park/neutral to compensate or is there another problem?
