Cylinder head skimming 444-544

Hi everyone

Can someone tell me what is the optimum amount of metal I could skim off the Cylinder head without needing to change the camshaft. Also once this is done, what thickness of head gasket would I need. I use the word optimum as opposed to maximum for good reason, as I understand that the head can get gouged if one attempts to skim off too much metal.
