Burping or farting noise upon acceleration 900 1993

My wagon just turned 200K and is running beautifully except for this intermittent burping or farting noise when accelerating. It doesn't happen every time or only when accelerating briskly. It seems to come from under the dash. I've thought about the release of excess pressure from the coolant res. or a vacuum leak. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
