1997 960 FOB/keyless remote-no go! 900

I have a 97 960, love it...but something has happened to the FOB! I replaced the batteries and for about a week it worked great (bout 30 ft away.) So what I am trying to figure out is how to RESET the device because it seems like the computer doesn't want to take the code or something? The remote makes the usual 'chirp' when pushing the buttons but the car, no response :(

The locks and alarm work fine, when using the key but will not respond to the remote. One day it was working fine, the next it wouldn't...any ideas or suggestions would be so helpful!!!
