Transmission Going? 200 1990

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a 1990 240 about a year ago with only 64,000 miles. It was in very good condition. Unfortunately, I had to let it sit outside from september to the beginning of May. Now, it seems to have gotten confused as to at what speeds it should shift gears. It has an automatic transmission. For instance, it will never shift out of first gear. I can get it to do this, by shifting into second and then back into drive. Then it will shift. After that it shifts to third at 55, and fourth at 70. It sounds pretty bad (i.e. high rpm's) before it shifts. A few times when it downshifts it will do that too early as well (i.e. it downshifts and you feel the car get slowed down by shifting to a lower gear).

Any advice would be appreciated! I think I'm going to take the car in today.

Gabe
