M46 Clutch Has Stopped Clutching! 200

Hello,

I have an interesting problem that has grounded my 82. The clutch fork has stopped working. The clutch was squeeking on engagement so I went check for a cable issue. While my son was working the clutch I was watching the fork and the noise was coming from the trans. I put my hands on the fork as my son pushed the pedal. What happened next was not enjoyable. There was a cracking sound and the clutch stopped working. The fork moves with no effort via the clutch cable but no action in the trans. Here are the vitals;

Clutch, Throw Out Bearing and Cable-Less then 2k miles

No trouble shifting before failure.

Fork was orig with car.

What I have found out is the possibility that the fork pivot or the fork itself has failed. Has anyone had any experience with something like this and can give me some input. I hope that I dont have to drop the trans, but that does not look to hopeful. Thanks

Mario
