Fuel pump compatibility 740 into 240 200 1989

Just trying to save a few bucks but here's the question:

My '89 240 shut down on my last week, I heard the fuel pump making intermittent loud buzzing (sounded sort of like my cell phone vibrating on a table top) prior to the shut down and so I think that I probably need a new pump (has about 230K miles on it).

I was at the local car yard and couldn't find a 240 newer than '86 - but I did find a '92 740 Turbo. Could this work for my 240 (non turbo)? The cost of this used pump is about $15 compared more than $300 I'd have to spend for a new one.
