1997 960 Wagon Air Conditioning Problems 900

Hi All
I have a 1997 960 Wagon with A/C problems. When you first turn the A/C on it works fine, it cools good and everything’s great. Then after it has been on for several minutes it quits cooling. The fan is still running and the sensors seem to be working OK because as the internal temperature of the cars increases the fan speed increases to compensate. If you push the snowflake button to turn the compressor off and leave it off for 5 minutes or so and turn it back on it works again but will stop cooling after several minutes. The problem also seems to be temperature dependant in that the hotter it is outside the worse the problem. At night when the temperature is cooler you may not see the problem at all. It also seems to happen less if you’re moving down the interstate although it does still occur. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks
Jack
