fill manual tranny m46 700 1985

Guys

FAQ's say put up on jack stands open top and stick finger in to test fluid level.

I opened the top fill plug with the car pretty much leveled off ....and fluid came out pretty quickly. I assume that means that there is enough fluid in there.

Is the trick here to angle the tranny back (front end nose way up) and then pump the fluid in or am I good to go if fluid comes out with car leveled off?

Does one just plunge the fluid in and get the plug in real quick while the fluid is runnning out?

Is it possible that the front of the M-46 can be full and the od unit behind it is low? Or do both units find a common level?

Thanks again
