ECU replacement for 744T 700 1990

For the past three years we've had a 740 Turbo (1990 model).

At the beginning of May, the car wouldn't start. We took it to our mechanic, and the fuel pump relay had blown out the fuel computer. We have been searching for a replacement computer (at a reasonable price) for several weeks. Since the car is a Turbo model, finding one that would fit properly has been _extremely_ difficult.

Yesterday our mechanic called, telling us that he had not been able to find a matching computer anywhere in the Southwest.

What can we do to get the car running again? Is there a replacement part that will work? It has the 2.4L Turbo 4 engine, and the computer # is 0280 000 563.
