"Well that’s a bit of a disappointment, although if you grind the crank to suit either of the 4G63 rods, the C shaped sides would still be ample to guide the rod, it’s just rather irksome looking."

Considered doing that, but not being 100% sure how well it was going to work, decided that the better course was to pay a little more for rods, get ones that were the right width, and a the same time get a journal and bearing size that I was a little more comfortable with. This way I can also use the 6 bolt cranks that are more common.
