Fuel pump choices? 200 1982

Hey folks,
I've been tinkering with this '82 GL (K-jet) for my girlfriend. Bought it for $200, put about $150 into it fixing exhaust, wipers, and rust holes. Basically, I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

The car runs GREAT (especially at over 300k miles) but the fuel pump buzzes like an angry bee hive. The main fuel pump. Transfer pump DOES work, whether it works as well as it should or not I cannot say for I have no fuel pressure gauge.

I DO know that the fuel pumps were both replaced 4 years ago. The in-tank (transfer/pre-pump) pump was Genuine Volvo replaced at the dealer. The main pump is an aftermarket special.

I checked the in-tank pump for hose problems: none. I checked the filter sock: clean as whistle. The relay is not in great shape, soldered a couple of connections back together, but it DOES do it's job, seemingly as it should.

The car runs just fine, but that pump is driving me nuts. At this point I'm suspecting that it's just that the main pump happens to be crapping out on me, unfortunately, because it's the most expensive part to replace.

OK, to the point: Is there an alternative to the $180 for the Volvo pump, or even the $130 for an aftermarket pump? What will work with a K-Jet system?

P.S. I have radio interference now when car is running - possibly the fuel pump??

Thanks
-Sean
