Volvo 240GL light problem 200 1988

Im stumped....when i switch the light knob to the running lights, the front lights dont turn on, but only 3 of the back lights do, 2 on the right and 1 on the left..then when i turn it to all lights on, the front lights still dont work, but one back light does and is alot brighter than when i had it in the running light position, only the high beams work when i try to switch the high beams on, but when i let go of the switch they click back off...im really stumped and would appreciate any help on how to make my lights work correctly, thanks, louie
