repost to 700 forum--shaking parts under hood 700 1990

Hi there:

I posted an inquiry this morning but not to the 700 forum so I'll post it again. And again, I really appreciate the response from a previous posting since I am trying to become as informed as possible where maintenance is concerned.

I notice the front of my car vibrating when stopped at a light or in traffic and I checked under the hood this morning to see the alternator and other parts shaking. Is this normal? I have had problems with my battery gauge and the alternator which my mechanic says have both checked out fine but I'm wondering if the shaking is having some effect.

In addition to wondering if this shaking is normal on a 16 year old car, my biggest concern is whether or not there is some bracketing missing and if the car is safe to drive in this condition.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Morgan
