losing oil???

Hi All.
daughters 94 940 107,000 miles, bosch system, non turbo.
purchased car with 86,000 miles near mint one owner.
the first trip to virginia and back the car used no oil to speak of. now i changed the oil at 104,000 and at 107,000 miles it has used about a 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 quarts.
this is the second consecutive oil change its used oil?
i can see any significant oil loss from under the car as i checked when i did the motor mounts today, just a very small amount on the oil pan not enough to make a spot on the driveway.
two oil changes ago when she came over the car was 2 1/2 quarts low and the oil had not been done in 9 or 10 thousand. (kids)
im thinking maybe the valve seals? just a guess i dont see the car very often so i havent really checked for smoke on start up, plus im not a mechanic i just kinda replace stuff like the monkeys down at the tire kingdom. (maybe im one or two tree limb above them chimps)
i do know a little, but fault diagnosis in not my strength.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
would running the car 2 1/2 quarts low cause any problems.
i went over the car and did many of the routing items that are always discussed on the B.B..
by the way the car runs great.
thanks a million and a half.
yes i know my english has much to be desired.
mike
