Update. Same problem, no idle. 140-160 1975

Well, I finally got to the car today. I wrapped the fuel rail with insulation and aluminum tape to ward off heat. The injector for #1 appears to work. Still no idle... number 1 plug gets wet.
I took it for a 2 mile test loop. 2000 rpm and all sounds good, over that it starts to get rough but the speed limit is 30 and the car decided it does not want to stay in first and shifts to second(no big deal).
When a lot of gas is applied - Back Fire! Not loud but a lot of it.
I hope it's not my "new" distributer.
What should I check next????

Thanks,
Klaus
