Front air dam with solid rotors? 200

I'm currently using a GLT front air dam with the commando bumpers on my 1982 245 DL, which obviously has solid front rotors. I'm familiar with the warning sticker on the spoiler, but figured I'm OK b/c I'm running Virgos, which seem to give plenty of air flow to the brakes. BUT I'm switching back from the Virgos to 14 inch steelies. Does this mean I need to remove the air dam for sure? What about adding a little bit of vent piping/ducting? Anyone ever done this?
