Muffle Up I Guess... 120-130 1967

Hi Jeff,

Most of the usual suspects have a sport system (not sure if they make one for the wagon) and there seems to almost always be a new system for sale on eBay. I have gone the other route and am having a local shop fabricate the exhaust for me (these places are pretty variable with respect to quality - if you go this route make sure you get some word-of-mouth recomendations and look at their work). My reasons for going this route are that I am cheap at heart - I got a fantastic deal on a stainless steel Magna Flow muffler and only need to have the 2.25" stainless pipe bent (I'll do the welding of the muffler etc myself - I already have the stainless dual down built). The grand total for my exhaust is just slightly less than the $225 that the sport system goes for and I have stainless from the manifold back to the tail pipe (so the savings was shipping and my labour is free).

As for the transmission oil - I use staight (not multi-grade) 30 wt.

Craig
