Anyone every experience a failed caliper mounting bolt? 200

I'm looking for some opinions on the issue of reusing the old caliper mounting bolts when remounting a brake caliper during a brake job. I know that Volvo advises the bolts be used once (and I understand bolt design issues behind this advice). However it seems that there are varying opinions among mechanics on the issue, both professional and shade tree. For instance, I know of one Volvo mechanic who has reused the bolts for over 20 years and never seen a failure.

At any rate, I'm wondering what your experience has been with this issue, and if anyone has, in fact, experienced a sheared bolt as a result of reuse. I'm not looking to play russian roulette, but I'd like some opinions based on real world experiences.

Thanks-

Andy R.
