Thinking about trading bricks.. from a 1990 245DL to a 1998 V70XC

Hello fellow brick owners:

Wife and I were thinking about getting a newer brick. Looking at a 1998 V70XC to replace the 1990 245DL with 330,000 miles (5 speed).

First of all, the condition of my brick: Starts great, runs great. New clutch at 281,xxx. A/C blows cold. Drivers seat leans and sags. Looks great still. Brakes and tires in good shape. Original engine and tranny. Timing belt will need to be replaced in the next few months.

Should I drive the current brick until I encounter a major problem?

The V70XC has a 174,000 miles on it but has been maintained well through a dealership is my understanding. An airline pilot owns it.

Am I smoking funny stuff to even think about getting rid of my brick. The good new is, if I do this, there will be a nice 245DL for sale in Oregon!
