Help me figure out whether this is a fuel pump problem, or vacum tube problem. 200 1992

Hi yall,

I have a problem with my 240 DL 92 volvo. Whenever I attempt to accerate the vehicle, its very sluggish in its response, and sometimes even dies if I don't have my foot on the gas. Usually what happens is when the car first starts up, it drives fine for about 30 seconds or so, then once I reach a stopping point and try to accerate again, the car jerks and drives funny. The only way around this is place my foot on the gas pedel, very lightly and wait until the car gets to a good speed (20mph or so) and then push further down. I've ran the problem by a few friends of mines and some believe its my fuel pump while others believe that its actually a vacum seal issue. Earlier in the year, I had the same problem, but it turned out that my main MAF tube had come lose, and once hooked back up properly, the car drove just fine. What can I do to figure out just what component is out on my car and what would cause these types of symptoms?

Thank You,
K
