check engine light 200 1989

Thanks for the help about my check engine light being on my '89 Volvo wagon. After being sent off from my 1st mechanic (a tire store kind of place) I found a mechanic in my town who said that it was easy to turn off the check engine light... which he did and said something about the code reading the fuel was too "something"
I had the fuel line cleaned the day before by the "tire store" mechanic...anyhow, my new 2nd mechanic turned the light off and I was able to take it to be emmisioned check in my state (GA) and it passed with flying colors!! and it is running fine at the moment. I guess I'll start to drive it again (after being idle for 2 years) as I do like it. So txs to all who gave me advice...Lord knows I need it!
