Pertronix install question 140-160 1973

High tension wire on. Cap on, but first check that the rotor is pointing to #1 and not #4 (or use #4 plug for the test -- just as good).

With a grounded jumper cable on the metal of the plug, no need to lay it on the block, although you can if you want to.

Ignition on, turn distributor body CCW until you're sure it's too far in that direction, and turn slowly CW until you see the plug spark. Ignition off, tighten distributor.
