740: 'quick' cam swap procedure? 700 1991

Hi everyone:

I have a couple of general questions about doing a cam swap in a B230F. Can the cam be swapped without completely removing the timing belt(by loosening the tensioner and removing the cam gear with the belt still on the crank gear)?

Can the cam be swapped out without removing the head mounted distributor?

I know this may all sound foolish but I am curious if this can be done. I do not need a new timing belt right now and would like to keep the R&R to a minimum if possible.

Thanks,

Andrew S.
