Off topic 140-160 1973

In the closeup below, you can see that the far end of that contraption is a garden variety stock Volvo fuel pressure regulator with the locknut removed. It is driven by a geared 12v motor, that is controlled by a spring loaded 3 position toggle switch on the dashboard. This is how I adjust fuel pressure while on track. (See my post in another thread concerning MPS problems for an explanation of why this is done.)

Three separate fuel lines enter or pass through the interior... the supply line from fuel cell to engine, the return line to the cell, and one that feeds the direct reading fuel pressure guage. Fuel lines in the interior of the car are specifically permitted by the safety rules, provided the lines are steel or steel braided.
